IPU Volunteer Health Care Assistants
Volunteer Role Description
Our Inpatient Unit is now looking for HCA volunteers, with previous experience as a RN or HCA, to support the Inpatient Unit nursing team, with providing assistance with patient personal care and working under the direct supervision of nursing staff at all times.
The shifts available are Friday morning, Saturday morning and Sunday morning. Morning Shifts are 09.00 to 13.00.
Our volunteer HCAs will work under the direction of a supervisor/mentor from the nursing team to provide assistance with the care, hygiene, toileting, nutrition, mobilisation, rest and comfort needs of patients, enabling and promoting patients independence where appropriate
All volunteers will receive training to support them in their role.
St Elizabeth Hospice has a volunteer mileage/expenses policy which allows volunteers to claim expenses and mileage incurred whilst carrying out their role for the hospice.
