Join Walk On for a summertime family-friendly walk

Walk On is a free walking group run by volunteers on behalf of LivingGrief, the bereavement service at St Elizabeth Hospice.

Open to all bereaved people in Suffolk, even if you haven’t accessed hospice services before, the Walk On group explores local places and the countryside to boost wellbeing and mental health.

On Saturday 23 August 2025, we will be hosting a summertime family-friendly walk. This walk is specifically for bereaved children, young people and their families. It is a chance for families to come together, enjoy a peaceful walk and have refreshments afterwards. All children/young people attending must be accompanied by an adult.

Please meet at Rendlesham Forest for a three mile walk followed by picnic refreshments and use of the play area. The walk will take between 60 and 75 minutes to complete.

Rendlesham Forest is signposted from the B1084 (IP12 3NF) and the walk will start at 11.00am. Please park at the car park (pay and display) closest to the forest office and bring your own picnic/refreshments for after the walk.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join this walk too. There are toilets available but Rendlesham Forest is bin-free and so we are asked to take our litter home with us.

Ahead of the walk, please register by Wednesday 13 August below so we know to expect you and you can detail emergency contact information.

If you have any queries on the walk, please call Dennis or Sarah on: 07731 997683
