With Australia Day taking place on 26th January, the Zest Days’ young adults celebrated all things ‘Down Under’ this Friday.
The young adults enjoyed decorating and making their own Australian cork hats, as well as ensuring their inflatable kangaroo had plenty of bounce while taking part in some group parachute fun and creating their own special rainmaker instruments.
“It was g’days all round as we enjoyed marking Australia Day, learning more about Australia and having lots of fun in the process,” said Jodie Horwood, activities coordinator at Zest.
“During Zest Days and Zest Short Breaks this week, we are also having fun with LEGO as part of World LEGO Day on 28th January.
“From building a wide range of LEGO constructions, through to spelling our names in LEGO, which is a great sensory experience for the young adults, we are sure to have lots of excitement.”
Zest Days also featured a number of games of Boccia – the group’s favorite sport – and a special visit from members of Premier Education who engaged with the young adults as they took part in activities throughout the afternoon.
Zest Days are held every Friday, at St Elizabeth Hospice from 10am-4pm, and are dedicated to young adults aged 18 and upwards.
