We are delighted to announce the £2,000 top prize winner of our Summer Raffle which raised more than £34,000 for the Hospice went to Miss Ann Ward, of Woodbridge.
When we spoke to her about her lucky win, she said “It’s absolutely wonderful. I can’t believe it to be honest! It’s really good, I’m so happy. I might put the £2,000 towards a car or maybe a holiday. It’s overwhelming. I bought about 10 raffle tickets as I often support the Hospice and the work you do.”
About 2,000 local people bought one or more of the £1 raffle tickets or made a donation to the Hospice, in the hope of winning the top prize of £2,000.
The raffle was launched in May and the draw was made on Friday 3rd August at the Hospice. The winners are going to be receiving their prize cheques shortly.
Raffle organiser, Douglas Flood, said: “We would like to thank everyone who supported this raffle. They have contributed an amazing amount.”
Mr Flood also thanked the volunteers and fundraising staff who help process the raffle.
The Hospice’s next raffle will be held in January 2013.
