St Elizabeth Hospice is calling on local businesses to put their aprons on and get baking for the first ever St Lizzy’s Festive Cake Off.
Running from 8th – 12th December, the five day fundraising event will see local firms hold a series of bake sales to raise money for the local charity, which is hoping to raise £10,000 from the initiative.
Businesses simply select a day they would like to hold a sale, and invite staff to bring in cakes and other baked goods to sell. All proceeds will go towards the Hospice, helping provide care and support to patients and their families.
Sarah Archer, Fundraising Partnerships Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “Christmas is such a fantastic time of year for food, with people preparing all sorts of treats for their families.
“We thought it would be a great idea to bring some of this festive joy into people’s offices, while raising money for the Hospice.
“Christmas can be a particularly difficult time of year for our patients, their families and carers, especially if they’re unable to be at home. Reaching our target of £10,000 will help us to ensure that those patients who do stay with us over Christmas can have the best time possible.”
