Registration launched for Midnight Walk

Ladies only! You are invited to take part in St Elizabeth Hospice’s Midnight Walk on Saturday 19th May 2012.

Registration has been officially launched for the fifth annual sponsored Midnight Walk to raise money for St Elizabeth Hospice.

And new for this year will be a School Disco- themed warm up and two routes to choose from – five or eight miles.

The walk starts from Ipswich Town Football Club and goes through Ipswich Town centre at night. The longer route will poignantly pass by the Hospice itself in Foxhall Road, providing a moment for reflection.

Many of you may have friends or family touched by St Elizabeth Hospice care. And, whatever your age or fitness, we hope you will find it rewarding to get together with other women for this worthwhile cause.

Around 1,900 women took part last year raising around £200,000 for the Hospice – making it the charity’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

Dress to impress on the night with School Disco-themed costumes, wigs, bunny ears, feather boas or whatever takes your fancy. Merchandise to get you looking good will be on sale in St Elizabeth Hospice shops and on the night.

And after you have finished the walk there will be a bacon roll and a hot chocolate waiting for you.
Event organiser Emily Sullivan said: “This is the Hospice’s biggest fundraising event of the year and it is always a memorable night. This year we have new routes and a new School Disco theme and registration has just opened. We hope as many women as possible will sign up to help us to continue to provide hospice care to local people free of charge.”

Registration is £15 including a Midnight Walk T-shirt.

You can sign up online at www.midnightwalkipswich.co.uk or call 01473 707043 or email midnightwalk@stelizabethhospice.org.uk to be sent a form in the post.

Closing date for registration is May 11th 2012. Walkers are asked to raise as much sponsorship as possible.

Midnight Walk 2012 is supported by the East Anglian Daily Times, Ipswich Star and Town 102.
