Record turnout for Christmas Day Dip 2017

More than 400 people enjoyed the traditional Christmas Day dip at Felixstowe.

The festive fundraiser sees local supporters, often dressed in fancy dress charge into the icy North ea whilst hundreds more watch from the seafront.

This year the Mayors of Ipswich, Sarah Barber, and the Mayor of Felixstowe, Nick Barber also joined the icy plunge.

St Elizabeth Hospice chief executive Mark Millar said: “It’s great to see over 400 people doing the Christmas dip this morning. I think they’re all very brave, they’re all great supporters, they’re all heroes.”

St Elizabeth Hospice provides care and support to more than 2,000 patients and their families every year, and can only offer these vital services with the fundraising and volunteer support of the local community.
