St Elizabeth Hospice has opened a brand new shop in Needham Market.
The shop in the market town was officially opened on Friday 18 December and is the local charity’s 26th store.
The ribbon was cut by the Mayor of Needham Market, Josephine Lea, at 10am and they were joined by hospice staff and volunteers to mark the occasion.
Jade Woodrow, St Elizabeth Hospice’s retail area manager, said: “We’re really excited to have opened a hospice shop in Needham Market and it’s already so well supported by the local community. We’ve got 15 amazing volunteers assisting in the shop and local people have already started donating items.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone for their generosity and support so far and I’m sure it will continue. It costs millions of pounds a year to run the hospice and around 20% of that comes from our shops, so by shopping, donating and volunteering, you really are making a difference to Suffolk families living with a progressive illness.”
The shop will sell high quality, vintage, retro and quirky items as well as an array of ladies wear, homeware and it has a dedicated book and entertainment room.
Miss Woodrow added: “We hope people will come along and experience a day’s shopping in our new shop we are looking forward to welcoming you.”
More volunteers are still needed to help in the shop, so if you can spare a few hours a week or month, please pop in and speak to the shop manager or apply online at https://www.stelizabethhospice.org.uk/support-us/support-us/volunteer-for-us/.
If you would like to donate items to the new shop, you can drop them off at the store in the High Street from Monday to Saturday, 9.30am – 4.30pm. Good quality items such as clothes, accessories, books, DVDs, toys, games and homeware are all welcome.
To donate furniture, please do not drop it off at the shop, call 0846 259 0319 and we will arrange to collect it from you.
