Miller Insurance donates £17,000 to hospice

Specialist insurance and reinsurance brokers, Miller Insurance, has donated £17,000 for St Elizabeth Hospice as part of the hospice being a chosen charity partner for 2021.

For more than 20 years Miller Insurance has provided support to a wide range of good causes. Every year, the Group Executive Committee sets aside a charitable fund to support employees and the local community in their fund raising and other charitable activities.

A proportion of the funds is allocated, by the Miller Charitable Fund Committee, to partner charities which are chosen by employees.

With this year, St Elizabeth Hospice being one of the five selected partner charities and this generous donation brings Miller Insurance’s total support of the hospice to £17,000 since January 2021.

Georgina Garrod, member of the Miller Charitable Fund Committee, said: “The Charities Committee at Miller likes to create lasting partnerships with our Charity Partners that enable us to grow with and develop together, encourage and provide opportunities for Miller wide staff engagement so that everyone in our organisation has the chance to get involved and make a difference.

“We are privileged to be able to support St Elizabeth Hospice and hope that we can play our part and ensure the Hospice can continue helping those who so desperately need it.

Liz Baldwin, Corporate and Sponsorship Fundraising Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, added: “We are so grateful to Miller Insurance for this fantastic amount they have raised and every penny will make a difference to our services.

“Without the support of the local community and the generosity of businesses, such as Miller Insurance, we would not be able to deliver our care to those who need it in the local area.

“We look forward to working with Miller Insurance in 2022 as they support us through their Make a Difference Days.”
