Martlesham Book Sale to be held in aid of Hospice

On 30th October, at St Michael and All Angels Church in Martlesham, a book sale featuring thousands of books will be held to raise vital funds for St Elizabeth Hospice.

From fantasy to non-fiction through to horror and adventure, the sale will include books of all genres to suit the tastes of everyone.

Taking place between 10am-2pm, the sale features books kindly donated by Dick Moffatt of Poor Richard’s Books in Felixstowe, following his decision to close his physical shop on Orwell Road, which has been open since 1997.

Hospice ambassador John Hammond, who has volunteered for St Elizabeth Hospice for five years, will be helping run the event on 30th October with his wife Julie.

He explained: “With Dick closing his book shop in Felixstowe, to concentrate on online book sales, we are so pleased and grateful he has chosen to donate such an eclectic mix of books to the hospice cause.

“There will be thousands of books for people to look through and purchase – a real treat. The last year or so has been a difficult time for us all, but books have provided a comfort to so many.

“The book sale will give people a chance to come out and purchase their next page turner that benefits their soul but also supports the hospice in the process. We look forward to welcoming one and all to St Michael and All Angels Church for the sale later this month.”

St Michael and All Angels Church’s address is as follows: The Drift, Martlesham Heath, Martlesham, Ipswich IP5 3PL.
