Mamma Mia Singalong raises thousands for hospice

Around 250 dancing queens filled the Riverside Theatre, Woodbridge, on Wednesday night for a Mamma Mia Singalong, raising more than £3,000 for St Elizabeth Hospice.

The local charity’s first musical singalong was a huge success, selling out weeks before the event took place.

As well as the singalong movie, viewers were treated to a drinks reception; performances from Pop Chorus, singing the Abba classics to warm them up; and they also had the chance to enter a raffle to win some fantastic prizes.

Fiona Ginn, St Elizabeth Hospice’s partnerships fundraiser, said: “Everyone who came along had a super trouper night, raising lots of money, money, money for the hospice!

“I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who bought a ticket and came along, to Riverside Theatre for all their support and to the Pop Chorus Choir for their performance, warming up the audience.

“We raised an incredible £3,000 which will go towards improving life for people living with a progressive illness such as cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure.”
