A Senior Healthcare Assistant at St Elizabeth Hospice has received an award for 20 years long service.
Glynis Dzundza, 59, of Ipswich, started working at the Hospice in Foxhall Road in November 1992 as a Catering Assistant in the kitchen.
She is now a Senior Healthcare Assistant on the Inpatient Unit and is currently completing her degree in Palliative Care.
Mrs Dzundza said: “When I started working at St Elizabeth Hospice I was also working at St Clement’s, but I loved working at the Hospice so much, I wanted to be there, so I gave it up to work on the Inpatient unit. It was a dream when I got the job.
“I’m part of a very friendly, hardworking and patient team, who mean everything to me. We support each other inside and outside work.
“I still love working at the Hospice now, even though it’s so different. It’s nice to know I can make a difference to people’s lives. I’m here to stay for a bit longer.”
In her 20 years, Glynis has also worked in the Day Unit and in the community. She was presented with an engraved pen and a gold badge for reaching her 20 years Long Service.
Each year St Elizabeth Hospice celebrates staff who have served five years or more.
Lymphoedema Therapist Jane Baston also received an award for her 15 years service at the Hospice, as well as nine members of staff who received their ten year long service award and 12 who received their five year award.
