On Monday 29 February it will be business as usual at St Elizabeth Hospice, however due to the leap year, the local charity is asking the community to fund the additional day.
The hospice is appealing for supporters to make a donation of any size to go towards covering the costs.
Felicity Rook, head of fundraising at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “For many people 29 February is just a bonus day we gain every four years, but for the hospice it means raising another £25,000 to enable us to run our services.
“Any donation you give, no matter how small, will make a difference to our patients; helping us to provide them with the vital care and support they need, either in the hospice itself or in their own home.”
