Hospice volunteer shares Lucky Ticket winning prize with hospice colleagues

St Elizabeth Hospice catering team volunteer, Jenny Mann, is celebrating after being chosen as a Lucky Ticket winner.

Jenny, who has volunteered at the hospice for more than six years, was selected in September as a winner of Lucky Ticket, a digital platform which empowers charities to convert gifts, donated and purchased items into online fundraising raffles.

Lucky Ticket sees supporters buy tickets to win prizes whilst contributing to the causes closest to their hearts. As the a selected Lucky Ticket winner, Jenny was the recipient of a John Lewis hamper and truffles as reward for her winning, a prize which she has decided to share with her colleagues who work in the St Elizabeth Hospice kitchen.

She said: “I didn’t expect to win the Lucky Ticket. It was lovely surprise but the most important thing was supporting the hospice.

“My mum’s aunt was treated at St Elizabeth Hospice and I remember how caring and friendly the nurses were. As a result, I have been supporting the hospice ever since as it is a vital part of the community and I was very pleased and proud when I got the chance to volunteer in the kitchen.

“I wanted to share my prize with the kitchen staff as they do such a great job and work so hard. Also my mum has been very unwell recently, so I haven’t been able to volunteer at the hospice as much as I would like to have done.

“However, the kitchen team have been brilliant to me, especially Roz, Lizzy and Fran, who have helped me through the last few months. I don’t know what I would have done without them, so this was a nice opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to them.”

Suffolk based tech company Lucky Ticket, provide an online raffling platform for registered charities including St Elizabeth Hospice. The Lucky Ticket raffle was created in response to the pandemic as the company recognised the challenges faced by many charities as traditional fundraising events were cancelled.

Lucky Ticket is available to all registered charities in England and Wales with a simple sign-up and verification process using the Charity Commission API. Whilst charities often receive donated gifts and prizes, many are not always able to easily capitalise on the fundraising potential they present to quickly and effortlessly raffle off these items to raise much-needed funds.
