Following the launch of its Be a Star Christmas appeal, St Elizabeth Hospice has thanked businesses across the region for joining its Matched Giving campaign and is calling on the local public to make the first week of December a bumper week for Be a Star.
From 30th November to 7th December, the independent Suffolk charity is hosting a Christmas Matched Giving campaign, which will see every £1, up to a total of at least £10,000, raised for Be a Star by the local community matched by the generosity of businesses in the area.
All funds generated by the Christmas Matched Giving will go towards the hospice’s Be a Star appeal. A campaign encouraging the communities of Norfolk and Suffolk to support the hospice over the festive period.
Liz Baldwin, Corporate and Sponsorship Fundraising Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, explained: “We have been thrilled by the response from supporters to our Be a Star appeal which launched earlier this month.
“As well as community support, we are so pleased so many fantastic local businesses and organisations have joined our Christmas Matched Giving campaign.
“Through donating to Be a Star, in the first week of December, you will be helping us maximise the impact of the appeal with our Christmas Matched Giving doubling all funds raised during this week, courtesy of the generosity of local businesses!”
On average, every Christmas, the hospice provides vital care to more than 865 people living with progressive and life-limiting illnesses and their families across East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney, for many of whom it will be their last Christmas spent together.
Through Be a Star, the charity is encouraging the community to support the hospice during this very special time of year and help staff ensure patients and families can have the Christmas they deserve and every donation towards the Be a Star and Matched Giving appeals will make a difference to this service.
