Funeral Directors pledge to support local Hospice

St Elizabeth Hospice has launched a new initiative which will see the Hospice working with local Funeral Directors.

The Hospice Friendly Funeral Directors scheme will allow the local charity to ensure their patients and families are able to easily access funeral planning information, whilst building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with local providers.

Funeral Directors signed up are: East of England Co-op Funeral Service; Farthing, Singleton & Hastings; and Hyde-Chambers Funeral Directors.

Felicity Rook, Head of Fundraising at the Hospice, said: “We are delighted to be working with local Funeral Directors in a partnership that will benefit both us and them, and we are grateful for their generous support.

“Working with them will enable us to embed funeral planning as part of our holistic approach to patient care, allowing patients to have access to all the information that they – and their families – may need, when they’re ready for it.”

Luke Farthing, of Farthing, Singleton & Hastings, said: “As a family, we have experienced first-hand the incredible and valuable work of St Elizabeth Hospice and are more than pleased to offer whatever support we can, both to the team of the Hospice and to all those for whom they care for so diligently.”

Robin Hyde-Chambers, of Hyde-Chambers Funeral Directors, said: “In modern times we find planning ahead so important. We look forward to supporting St Elizabeth Hospice in providing such a vital resource.”

Adam Gray, of the East of England Co-op Funeral Service, said: “We are proud to be supporting St Elizabeth Hospice with the new Hospice Friendly Funeral Director scheme which allows us to work closely with the Hospice to advise and guide those families who turn to us for help in their time of need. The East of England Co-op Funeral Service is Local, Independent and has been trusted by the families we serve since 1925 and we are committed to providing excellent levels of service, care and reassurance when it’s needed most.”
