Christmas came early to Zest on Tuesday 6th December as the Zest young adults enjoyed a range of Christmas based fun as part of the Zest X-Change Christmas party.
The evening began with a special performance of Christmas carols by the Friends of St Elizabeth Hospice Choir, before the young adults danced along to their favourite festive songs with a Christmas disco, while wearing a range of Christmas jumpers and outfits.
This was followed by a number of Yuletide themed games and activities, including; Christmas gingerbread decorating, Boccia, Christmas card making, the Christmas tree challenge and much more.
“Today has been fantastic”, said Mason, who attends Zest X-Change. “It has been lots of fun and I really enjoyed the gingerbread decorating.
“Zest is great because I like doing things with my friends and playing with my friends. I really can’t wait for Christmas.”
Part of the St Elizabeth Hospice Group, since 2015, Zest has provided specialist medical and social support services to young adults, aged 14 and upwards, living with progressive and life-limiting illnesses, while also ensuring the smooth transition from children’s hospice into adult care.
Held on the first Tuesday of every month, between 4.30pm-7.30pm, Zest X-Change is Zest’s young adult social group.
Zest X-Change offers a place for young people to meet, engage in inclusive activities and share experiences. It is available for young adults aged 14 upwards to support the transition from children’s services.
Jodie Horwood, activities coordinator at Zest, said: “What a brilliantly festive way to celebrate the start of the Christmas period. The Zest young adults brought a real Christmas sparkle with their Christmas jumpers and singing along to their favourite songs.
“Thank you as well to the Friends of St Elizabeth Hospice Choir for a fantastic performance of Christmas carols which got us all in the mood for a great evening of festive fun.”
