An auction featuring a range of items kindly donated by Suffolk singing superstar, Ed Sheeran, is raising vital funds for St Elizabeth Hospice and our young adult service, Zest.
We are delighted to announce our friends at Bishop & Miller Auctioneers will be hosting a fundraising auction for us, on 26 September, which will include 200 lots of items donated by Ed Sheeran to our Martlesham retail shop.
From trainers, jackets and t-shirts, through to some of his prized musical instruments, such as the star lot – Ed’s custom painted Martin LXM acoustic guitar – there really is something for everyone and plenty for Ed’s fans – aka ‘Sheerios’ – to enjoy and place all-important bids on, as the lots go under the hammer.
Clare Chater, Direction of Income Generation at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “We’d like to thank Ed for his amazing generosity in donating such a fantastic series of items for the auction. It’s a truly unique opportunity for all Ed Sheeran fans!
“Our thanks also go to Bishop & Miller for hosting the auction, which will raise vital funds to support our services.
“Annually, our hospice team supports thousands of people, throughout East & Mid Suffolk, Great Yarmouth & Waveney. We’re reliant on donations and fundraising to continue our work and every penny raised by the auction will make a difference to those under our care.”
The auction will be held online or you can join us in person. With the auction starting from 7pm, at the auction house at 19 Charles Industrial Estate, Stowmarket, IP14 5AH, while there will be a chance to view the items in person from 4pm.
Claire Dorman, whose husband James Dorman received care from St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “There will be so many families across Suffolk grateful to Ed Sheeran for his generosity in helping to raise funds for the St Elizabeth Hospice. The hospice have never faltered in their care for my family, during my husband James’ illness and after we lost him.
“When James and I first started dating in 2011, we spent many hours driving around in his car listening to Ed’s + album, it was our absolute favourite. Our daughter and her friends are all now huge fans too, so it’s come full circle!
“Ed’s donation to the hospice is an incredibly kind gesture and the funds it will generate are absolutely vital in allowing the hospice to continue their important work – so please take part and place a bid!”
The auction will be live from 10am on 9 September at Bishop & Miller’s website. Bid online here.
