The MP for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich was given a tour of the under-construction in-patient unit to see how well the work is progressing.
Chief Executive Jane Petit hosted his visit and he also spent time speaking to patients and staff.
Dr Poulter, who worked as an NHS hospital doctor before being elected as an MP in May 2010, is a supporter of the Hospice and this was his third visit.
