Volunteer Receptionist

Our receptionists are the first point of contact for all visitors and callers to the hospice, ensuring a warm welcome to visitors, volunteers and staff alike.

Your Key Activities will include:-

  • To greet all visitors to the hospice, ensuring that their arrival and departure is logged in the visitors’ book.
  • To ensure visitors comply with the most up to data infection control procedures
  • To ‘handover’ any important information from your shift to the next receptionist on duty
  • To answer all calls in a timely and helpful manner using the switchboard

We are looking for volunteer receptionists to cover the following shifts:

Monday morning 09.00 to 13.00, every other Thursday afternoon 13.00 to 17.00 as well as some weekend shifts.

A welcoming and efficient manner is essential for this role, as is an understanding of confidentiality and discretion. You will receive training to support you in your role.

St Elizabeth Hospice has a volunteer mileage/expenses policy which allows volunteers to claim expenses and mileage incurred whilst carrying out their role for the hospice.
