Salary: Circa £39,000 per annum

St Elizabeth Hospice are here for individuals who are living with progressive or life-limiting illnesses wherever we are needed; in their home, in the community or at the in-patient unit at our Ipswich hospice.  Last year we supported 3,185 patients ranging from 14 years old and upwards, and we have to generate over 70% of our funding ourselves, and this crucial role will help us to achieve this.

We are looking to appoint a Head of Facilities & Estates to cover a period of maternity leave. As part of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Facilities & Estates role offers the opportunity to provide strategic direction and leadership for all Facilities (Catering, Domestic and Maintenance), Health, Safety and Fire, Procurement and Logistic services across the hospice estate.  Developing and implementing strategies, policies and procedures, workforce planning, resource allocation, and supply management.

This role is crucial in delivering our five-year ambition so the ability to think strategically and contribute to the organisations development is imperative.

You will play a fundamental role in ensuring the facilities team maintain a culture that lives within the hospice’s values and is focused on customer service and accountability for delivery, both at the hospice itself and the 30 retail units in and around Suffolk & Norfolk.

Health and Safety will be a key element of this role and in conjunction with the Health & Safety Manager you will be required to ensure that all works and records are undertaken following mandatory and statutory requirements and best practice.
