Essential Care – Skin Integrity and Pressure Ulcer Identification
any social or health care assistants and carers (care and nursing home staff, carers in the community and health care professionals) and anyone involved in patient care who wishes to improve their knowledge and skills in skin integrity and pressure ulcer prevention.
This course aims to enhance participants’ awareness and understanding of maintaining healthy skin integrity, preventing pressure ulcers, and accurately categorising them.
Delivered in accordance with current national guidelines, it offers practical insights into best practices for promoting skin health and minimising the risk of pressure-related injuries.
This CPD session provides an overview on recognising healthy skin integrity, with a focus on the early identification and prevention of pressure ulcers. It supports learners to understand the underlying causes of pressure ulcer development, apply effective preventative measures in practice, and accurately assess and classify pressure damage in line with recognised guidance. It also explores skin changes associated with end of life, helping practitioners differentiate these from avoidable pressure damage to support appropriate documentation, care planning and decision-making.
This course is CPD Certified. CPD certification recognises the high standard, relevance, and value of this course, giving learners confidence that the training supports their ongoing professional development and learning needs and contributes to re-validation hours.
