This training course provides an overview of pain assessment for health and social care staff supporting individuals receiving palliative or end-of-life care. It introduces commonly used pain assessment tools and explains how to select and apply them appropriately in practice. The course introduces delegates to a range of non-pharmacological interventions that can be used alongside medication to help manage pain, improve comfort, and enhance overall quality of care. In the final part, delegates explore the vital role of effective communication in assessing pain, including verbal and non-verbal cues, and how communication barriers and/or facilitators can affect the assessment process.

The cost of the session is £60.00 per person.

Parking

Parking is limited at both hospice sites so we ask that you park in accordance with the highway code as poor parking creates a reputational risk for the hospices with our neighbours .  Due to the residential location of St Helena Hospice, please take note of restricted parking areas along with overflow parking option and footpath route to the hospice. Thank you for your consideration.

Cancellation Policy

Please contact us at the earliest opportunity. We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for the cancellation of our courses. For cancellations within 48 hours of the event, any course fee paid will be retained. Fees will also be retained if you do not attend the session on the set date. All courses are subject to change or cancellation suitable notification will be provided.
