Complex Care for Young Adults Training Day (2024)
Working with Hospice Education, Zest Centre of Excellence at St Elizabeth Hospice, is pleased to offer this study day covering the Complex Care needs of young adults.
The session is aimed at anyone that is or will be providing hands on care or supporting individuals to provide this care to young adults with complex needs.
This training focuses on complex health and care skills that are essential to provide safe, evidence based, holistic care to young adults with complex needs. During the day you will be provided with the key background knowledge to allow you to apply this to the young adults you may be caring for. The session will consist of both theory and skills based training.
Topics covered
- Physical assessment of the young adult
- Gastrostomies and enteral feeding
- Seizure management
- Suctioning
- Positioning and personal care
This is a full day of supported education, following this we are able to share our competencies for you to use to assess competence in practice. Please note that we will not sign off people as competent in a particular skill following this training.

Sessions will be delivered face to face at The Education Department, St Elizabeth Hospice, 565 Foxhall Road, Ipswich,IP3 8LX.
The cost for a session is £75.00 plus VAT.
