Spectacle of Light to Raise Funds for Hospice

24 January 2023

Haughley Park’s much loved Spectacle of Light is returning once more and this year it will be raising funds for independent Suffolk charity, St Elizabeth Hospice.

Returning for the third time, this year’s Spectacle of Light will have an Alice in Wonderland theme with attendees having the chance to meet the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts and the Cheshire Cat, as they enter Alice’s fantasy world full of adventure and wonder.

Taking place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, between 3rd to 26th February, Spectacle of Light invites visitors to follow the brand new magical, illuminated light trail through the glorious gardens of Haughley Park, near Stowmarket.

Liz Baldwin, corporate and sponsorship fundraising manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “We are delighted Haughley Park have chosen to support the hospice through this year’s Spectacle of Light and we cannot wait to see the fantastic lights on display.

“Their support will make a big difference to the hospice’s work, as we deliver care to patients and their families throughout East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney, who are living through difficult times in their lives.”

Robert Williams, of Haughley Park, said: “We are very proud to be partnering with St Elizabeth Hospice for our Spectacle of Light and toe raising money for the charity through the event’s wonderful Wishing Tree.

“Visitors can make a donation in return for a ribbon to tie on one of the branches – this can be to make a wish or simply remember a loved one. After all the pandemic restrictions, it is lovely to be able to bring back this feature and make the event bigger and better than ever for 2023.”

Free parking is available on site and dogs are welcome but must remain on short leads at the Spectacle of Light which is suitable for all the family. Book in advance to avoid disappointment, with a 10% discount sale being held until 2nd February.
