Remember a loved-one this Christmas at new Light up a Life event
A new Light up a Life event is being introduced this year for anyone wishing to remember a loved one in the run-up to Christmas.
For the first time a Light up a Life event will be held at St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich, in addition to the usual events at churches across Suffolk.
This means there will be five events this December; they are suitable for all the family and not just those touched by Hospice care, and include carols and a moment for reflection.
Also new is the opportunity to dedicate a light in a loved one’s memory online on a virtual Christmas Tree at www.stelizabethhospice.org.uk/lightupalife
And everyone has the opportunity to personalise a Special Memories Card with a photo and/or message which can be brought to the events or sent in for display at the Hospice in Foxhall Road, Ipswich.
Light up a Life Events are free to attend, no ticket is needed just turn up on the day. They will be at:
- Framlingham: Sunday 1st December 4pm, St Michael’s Church.
- Stowmarket: Sunday 8th December 4pm, inside the United Reformed Church, Ipswich Street.
- Felixstowe: Sunday 15th December 4pm, Trinity Methodist Church, Hamilton Road.
- Ipswich: Sunday 15th December 4pm, St Mary le Tower Church.
- Ipswich Hospice: Thursday 19th December 6.30pm, St Elizabeth Hospice, Foxhall Road.
The Reverend Jo Perry, St Elizabeth Hospice chaplain, said: “Christmas is a time for giving and sharing, a moment for enjoying being with your family members and loved ones. But it is also a time for reflecting on the lives of loved ones we have lost, remembering these special people and the cherished memories that we hold dear to our heart.
“St Elizabeth Hospice’s Light up a Life events are open to everyone and give us an opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate the lives of those we love and remember those who are no longer with us.”
You can pick up a Special Memories Card from any St Elizabeth Hospice shop or the Hospice, or by calling 01473 723600.
