New Ipswich Friends group to be set up

02 April 2012

A new Friends of St Elizabeth Hospice group for the Ipswich area is being set up.

The charity already has thriving Friends groups in Woodbridge, Eye, Hadleigh, Felixstowe, Waveney and Stowmarket.

They are made up of supporters who get together to meet like minded people, learn new skills and make a big difference to the local community by organising fundraisers and supporting the Hospice’s work.

St Elizabeth Hospice’s community fundraiser Andrea Chupacova said: “Friends groups are great for individuals who want to support the Hospice but not on their own. The groups can be as formal or informal as the people involved wish them to be and are all extremely sociable. You can choose how much time you commit and be as creative as you wish, but all funds raised really help us to continue to provide our Hospice services free of charge.

“We know we have a lot of supporters in the Ipswich area so we thought it would be great to set up a new Friends group for them.”

The fundraising team supports Friends groups every step of the way.

St Elizabeth Hospice relies on the generosity of the local community to meet the majority of its annual running costs.
