We run a monthly Boccia club where all patients are invited to join us to build skills using fun and challenging activities.
Boccia is a non-contact driven sport which relies upon skill and subtlety of the player rather than size, speed and strength. A ball can be propelled by rolling, throwing or kicking. If a player is unable to throw or kick it, they can use a ‘ramp’ (assisting device). If they are unable to release the ball with their hands, players can use a head pointer.
Our sessions are all about having fun, socialising, discovering new skills and developing existing talent. It is fully accessible to everyone.
We begin sessions with inclusive warm ups and fun games using a variety of props and we finish with a game of Boccia to put together all those skills.
X-Cel is held on the third Tuesday of each month between 5 - 6.30pm at the hospice on Foxhall Road, Ipswich. Make a quick enquiry here for more information about joining the club.
