The nurses were extraordinary, I always thought a hospice would be a sad place, but I was wrong. It was filled with warmth, compassion, and a deep respect for each family’s journey.

Suffolk Remembers 2025

You’re invited to Suffolk Remembers in the beautiful Spa Gardens at Felixstowe seafront.
Enjoy wonderful live performances from Martlesham Brass and Pop Chorus. The evening will culminate in the breathtaking sight of 5,000 candles spelling out “Suffolk Remembers”, shining brightly on the longest day of the year in loving memory of those no longer with us.

Listen to live music and readings during our special In Memory event, open to all and free to attend.
Dedicate a virtual candle
Visit www.stelizabethhospice.org.uk/suffolkremembers to dedicate a virtual candle, leave a message, and upload a photo. Every virtual dedication will also have a candle displayed at the event.
Julie Robinson will be remembering her wonderful father, Jack Robinson, by lighting and dedicating a candle in his name at Suffolk Remembers.
In October 2013, Jack was diagnosed with prostate cancer. For a time, treatment gave him precious extra years, but in June 2016, he received the heartbreaking news that the cancer had spread. As his condition worsened, his GP reached out to the hospice team, whose kindness and care became a source of comfort.

Jack looked forward to the nurses’ visits at home, their presence bringing both care and laughter. When the time came, he chose to spend his final days in the tranquil surroundings of St Elizabeth Hospice. With his loved ones by his side, he passed peacefully three days later.
My dad was not only an incredibly important part of my life but also a pillar of strength and kindness to everyone who knew him. He is never far from my thoughts, and being able to light a candle in his memory, seeing his name illuminated, brings me a deep sense of peace.
