The Great Garden Trail returns for 2019 with even more gardens to explore across Suffolk!

This August and September, we have a number of Great Garden Trail events for you to visit.


Westerfield House Care Home, Humber Doucy Lane, Ipswich, Suffolk IP4 3QG: Sunday 4 August from 10am to 4pm

Come along and visit the beautiful courtyard gardens that have been lovingly tended by the residents of Westerfield House.


Enjoy learning about the history of the home and take the opportunity to view the establishment in its present glory.

Otley Hall, Hall Lane, Otley, Ipswich, Suffolk IP6 9PA: Wednesday 7 August from 11am to 5pm

Listed in The Independent’s Top 50 Best British Gardens to visit, Otley Hall is surrounded by 10 acres of beautiful grounds, both formal and informal.


Enjoy the tranquility of the knot garden, walk our labyrinth, be captivated by the moat, canal and the vine tunnel, or find a secluded bench to watch the Peacocks and many other birds.

Entry is £3 for adults and children can enter for free.

Winburn, Thurston Road, Great Barton, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP31 2PL: Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 August from 11am to 4.30pm

This splendid garden is surprising and captivating. It has a Tropical theme throughout which includes tree ferns, various palms, a banana plantation, cactus plants and a Tropical Tree House.

Set within 2/3 of a acre. Enjoy the wonder of this garden amongst a number of seated areas.

Entry is £3 for adults and children can enter for free.

Katie’s Garden Plant Centre, Newbourne, Woodbridge IP12 4NS: Thursday 22 August from 4 – 7.30pm

Come and enjoy a behind the scenes tour of the greenhouses and growing areas at Katie’s Garden, an independent, family run nursery.


Our carefully selected range includes perennials, roses, lavenders, bedding & annuals, herbs, alpines, climbers, grasses, shrubs and trees. Our knowledgeable staff offer a friendly, helpful service. We are proud to supply St Elizabeth Hospice shops and the Great Garden Trail.

High House Fruit Farm Apple Event, High House Farm Road, Sudbourne, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP12 2BL: Saturday 14 September from 2 – 5pm

Come and enjoy a walk through the orchards of High House Fruit Farm, learn about growing apples then afterwards try your hand at pressing apples into juice.

Sensible shoes and insect repellent is advised for visiting.

Entry for adults is £5 and children can enter for free (maximum if 12-15 people per group)
