St Elizabeth Hospice Memory Tree
St Elizabeth Hospice invites you to dedicate a leaf or decorative rock on our Memory Tree to a loved one. Our Memory Tree is made of a hand carved bronze trunk and branches, solid brass, aluminium and copper leaves with decorative cast bronze rocks. The leaves and rocks are engraved with the name of loved ones who have died, making a poignant focal point within the Hospice, symbolising the many precious memories of people like you.
One of the first people to dedicate a leaf on the Memory Tree was Julie Hicks and her family who had a leaf engraved in-memory of her brother Steven Govender, who died in the Hospice in September 2010, aged 53.
Mrs Hicks, of Creeting St Mary, said: "I think the Memory Tree is beautiful. Stevie gained so much from the superb care of the Hospice – in fact we all did – so it was important for us to have his name up there. It means a lot to us and it is a place where we can go and reflect and remember him."
The Memory Tree is situated at the Hospice in Foxhall Road, Ipswich, on the wall by Reflections. Reflections is a tranquil place which is available to patients, families and staff for quiet thought, meditation, prayer or conversation and contains books and resources representing a range of faiths.
The name of the person you are remembering will be engraved on a solid brass, aluminium or copper leaf or bronze rock and displayed on our Memory Tree.
At the end of the display period you will be given the option to renew the leaf or rock you have dedicated or have it returned for you to keep.
