Hospice launches Suffolk’s first ever Bubble Rush

A new,
fun-filled, frothy event was launched this week by St Elizabeth Hospice which
saw people getting covered in bubbles!

The local
charity launched a brand new event – and a first for Suffolk – at Christchurch
Park yesterday and hundreds of people have already registered their interest in
being part of the bubbly fun.

The event,
called Bubble Rush, will see people run, walk, dance, or skip around
Christchurch Park on Sunday 28 August. The 5km route will feature five ‘bubble
stations’ which each have bubble cannons, blasting out crazy-coloured bubbles,
covering you in safe, frothy foam! Each station jets out different coloured
bubbles, with a matching scent and unique music to listen to.

The bubble station
was at Christchurch Park for the launch, attracting plenty of attention from
the families and youngsters enjoying their Easter holidays, many of whom wanted
to get bubbly!

Catherine
Sheppard, St Elizabeth Hospice’s events and challenges fundraiser, said: “We
are really excited to be launching Bubble Rush, which is really different from
any event we’ve ever organised before.

“Seeing the
youngsters and adults getting involved in the launch at Christchurch Park was
brilliant and gave all spectators a small taste of what to expect this summer!
Everyone watching – and running through the bubbles for the photos – were so
excited and enamoured by the bubbles, I’m sure we’ll see them all back on 28
August for the actual event!”

The frothy
foam has been tested and is safe and not harmful to anyone.

Miss Sheppard
added: “There are so many fun elements to it, from the crazy coloured bubbles
and their different scents; to the Zumba warm up. It will be great fun for all
and is the first of our events that anyone of any age can take part in, from
babies in buggies, to senior citizens!

“It will be
fantastic for any age bubbler taking part and I’m really looking forward to
seeing lots of families and groups of friends and colleagues diving through the
bubbles this summer.

“All the
money raised from the event will go towards helping improve life for people in
Suffolk living with a progressive illness such as cancer, motor neurone
disease, and heart failure.”
