Independent Suffolk charity St Elizabeth Hospice has announced the reopening of its much-loved Heath Road Coffee Shop, in Ipswich, following temporary closure due to Covid-19.
From Friday 2nd October, at 10am to 3pm, staff will welcome customers back to the coffee shop while adhering to governmental Covid-19 guidelines concerning social distancing.
New safety measures will see staff and volunteers wearing face coverings, enhanced cleaning, hand sanitiser stations, table service only, reduced seating capacity to facilitate social distancing, a track and trace system as well as customers encouraged to make contactless payments where possible.
Catherine King, Community Hub Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “Our staff and volunteers are so excited to re-open and welcome back customers to our Heath Road Coffee Shop.
“We have all missed the buzz of being open and being a part of the local community. The coffee shop is a real community hub which customers support so brilliantly.
“It was devastating to close in March, this year, as we were just about to celebrate our first year of trading at Heath Road which had been phenomenal. We had so many plans in the pipeline, but now we can return to giving a warm welcome to customers and help many in our community to feel connected again, following the isolation brought by lockdown.”
Marking the final reopening phase of St Elizabeth Hospice’s Heath Road shop, having been closed since 24th March, the Coffee Shop will be open Monday to Saturday between 10am – 3pm, with a full menu and drink selection as well as a special welcome back offer of coffee and cake for £3.50.
St Elizabeth Hospice is an independent Suffolk charity providing free services to improve life for people living with a progressive or life-limiting illness throughout Suffolk, including Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
