A charity football tournament held by leading property and construction consultancy Ingleton Wood has raised hundreds of pounds of vital funds for Ipswich-based St Elizabeth Hospice.
Staff from Ingleton Wood, which has seven offices including Ipswich, Colchester, Norwich, London, Billericay, Cambridge and Oxford, were joined by 11 other local businesses in the firm’s annual Ingleton Wood Football Tournament.
It was staged at Ipswich School Sports Centre recently. Staff, family and friends beat last year’s total by raising £1,276.
The hospice, based in Foxhall Road, provides palliative care to those with life-limiting illnesses in Suffolk. The charity needs to generate £10.5 million a year to run.
Jazmin Peach, corporate fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “We would like to thank everybody who took part in the football tournament. The day was a lot of fun and it was lovely to see so many companies getting involved again this year.
“Ingleton Wood’s continued support means that we can provide specialist and dedicated palliative care services to patients, their families and carers living in the community.”
Financial services firm Scrutton Bland were crowned the 2019 Winners after defeating recruitment consultants Conrad Consulting in the final.
John Dixon, partner at Ingleton Wood, said: “We are incredibly pleased to have raised such a large amount of vital funds for St Elizabeth Hospice, which plays such an important role to hundreds of families in the local area.
“We would like to thank everyone who attended and praise them for the exemplary, fun and competitive spirit in which the tournament was held. We look forward to next year’s event.”
