Would you like to be part of an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team working with young adults living with progressive illness and complex health care needs?

Do you have a passion to make a difference to the lives of young people and their families?

St Elizabeth Hospice is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible team as part of our exciting new weekend short break service for young adults with palliative care needs.  The role will involve delivering short break care, under the supervision of the registered nurse on duty, for two young adults staying for the weekend at the hospice.

The successful applicants will have a willingness to support young adults to plan their weekend short breaks, maximising opportunities to increase independence, try new experiences, have fun and socialise with others.  This may include inclusive activities at the hospice and outings into the community.

Whilst enabling the young adults to enjoy a fun and comfortable stay you will be required to:

  • carry out agreed tasks involving direct patient care, in accordance with the patient care plan
  • assist in physical care involving all hygiene, elimination, eating and drinking, mobilisation, rest, sleep and comfort needs

This is a fantastic opportunity to join St Elizabeth Hospice, your local hospice at the heart of the community, and to be part of something special that is happening in Suffolk.

You will be required to have at least one year’s experience of working in care, with full training provided to ensure you are competent and confident to support young adults with complex care needs. For more information please refer to the Job Description & Person Specification.
