For over 30 years St Elizabeth Hospice has driven forward innovation and development of services, both in the Ipswich and East Suffolk locality and now further up the coast to the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area through our partnership working with East Coast Community Healthcare.

This is an exciting time for St Elizabeth Hospice. It is a time of expansion, development and investment in the Hospice Team.  We are offering an opportunity to be part of the Emotional and Spiritual Wellbeing Team supporting the holistic care of patients and families with a progressive and life limiting illness. This is a chance to make a real difference to people’s lives.

We are excited and pleased to announce our first Spiritual Care Worker role within the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area. We are looking for a Spiritual Care Worker who can provide spiritual and pastoral care to patients/families and support our growing volunteer base.

As a Spiritual Care Worker you will be responsible for supporting the spiritual and religious needs of the patients, their families and carers in various settings – inpatient unit, community care units, in the community and as outpatients. You will be working with the emotional support services and our team of doctors, nurses and therapists to triage and respond to referrals. You will need to be a compassionate and empathetic person who enjoys working as part of a team. Excellent communication skills are vital as it is essential to be able to relate to people from different backgrounds, of all faiths and people with no faith.

In return we offer:

  • generous holiday entitlement
  • personal pension plan (NHS Pensions are transferrable)
  • excellent training opportunities
  • employee assistance programme
