St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people in east Suffolk living with a progressive or life-limiting illness. Our work is centred on an individual’s needs, which means specialist support, whenever and wherever it is needed, whether at home, in the community or at the hospice. Through medicine and therapy, we ease pain; we give life purpose and make life liveable.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experience Occupational Therapist to join our ever expanding Therapy Team here at St Elizabeth Hospice. We are looking for either a therapist with palliative care experience already or someone with transferable experience in other areas of practice but who has a passion for working in a holistic client and family centred approach. You would be an active member in the growing multidisciplinary team providing Occupational Therapy assessment, planning, implementing and evaluation of treatments to patients with a palliative care diagnosis. You must be a Registered Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 1 years post qualification experience. This post will also require working occasional Saturdays (usually one in every six), and some bank holidays, once thorough induction and competencies have been completed.
We are proud to have a strong palliative rehabilitation model that is led by our large Therapy Team. The team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists currently work across our inpatient unit, see outpatients in the Community Care Unit and visit patients in their own homes in the community.
The ideal candidates will have proven abilities to work with patients and families who have changing needs, both on an individual basis and in groups, as well as an understanding and ability to support individuals and families throughout their illness.
Our most recent Care Quality Commission report rated the hospice as “Outstanding”
