Facilities and H&S Coordinator

Status: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Up to £22,500 per annum

St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people in east Suffolk living with a progressive or terminal illness. Our work is centred on an individual’s needs, which means specialist support, whenever and wherever it is needed, whether at home, in the community or at the hospice. Working under some supervision the post holder will have responsibility for coordinating support and administration for the Facilities department which will include, but is not limited to; overseeing the Facilities helpdesk, managing contract files and spreadsheets, maintaining asset registers, assisting with site compliance, staff rotas, coordination and administrating health and safety records and all health and safety face to face training as well as logging and monitoring the status of incident and accident forms escalating to the Maintenance and H&S Manager to ensure all actions are completed. In addition, the successful applicant will carry out face to face training through the hospice to employees and volunteers, on topics such as manual handling and H&S Basics as well as attending and taking notes at the H&S group meetings, chairing in Maintenance and H&S managers absence. And creating a quarterly H&S bulletin.

The successful applicant should hold an NVQ Level 2 in Administration, or have the relevant office administration experience, with the ability to demonstrate excellent standards of literacy and numeracy. Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint are essential along with strong organisational skills. A driving licence is required for this position.
