For over 30 years St Elizabeth Hospice has driven forward innovation and development of services, both in the Ipswich and East Suffolk locality and now further up the coast to the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area.  NHS Norfolk and Waveney CCG have awarded the specialist palliative and end of life care contract to East Coast Community Healthcare.  The contract includes a specialist palliative care service, which will be delivered in partnership with St Elizabeth Hospice.

This is an exciting time for St Elizabeth Hospice. It is a time of expansion, development and investment in the Hospice Team.  We have an opportunity for a Counsellor to join our counselling service and work in a multidisciplinary team. You will be supporting those living with a progressive or life-limiting illness and work within our LivingGrief bereavement service. You must be a Registered accredited Counsellor or working towards accreditation. Our ideal candidate will have proven abilities to work with clients and families who have changing needs, on an individual basis, with couples and in groups, as well as an understanding and ability to support individuals and families throughout their illness. There is capacity in the team to support a newly qualified counsellor working towards accreditation so newly qualified therapists are welcome to apply.

At this exciting time for St Elizabeth Hospice, we are looking for a dynamic, compassionate and highly motivated individual who can provide emotional support and counselling service for patients and their families requiring specialist palliative care.

In return we offer:

  • mirror Agenda for Change with regard to salary, enhancements, annual leave and sick pay (however not reckonable service)
  • personal pension plan (NHS Pensions are transferrable)
  • excellent training opportunities
  • employee assistance programme
  • free parking

Our most recent Care Quality Commission report rated the hospice as “Outstanding”
