For over 30 years St Elizabeth Hospice has driven forward innovation and development of palliative care services, both in the Ipswich and East Suffolk locality and now further up the coast to the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area.

This is an exciting time for St Elizabeth Hospice. We have an opportunity for a Counsellor(s) to join our well established service for a fixed term of one year and work in a multi-disciplinary team. You will be supporting those living with a progressive or life-limiting illness and working within our LivingGrief bereavement service. You must be a Registered UKCP or BACP accredited Counsellor or working towards accreditation. Our ideal candidate(s) will have proven abilities to work with clients and families who have changing needs, on an individual basis, with couples and in groups, as well as an understanding and ability to support individuals and families throughout their illness and in bereavement. There is capacity in the team to support a newly qualified Counsellor working towards accreditation so newly qualified therapists are welcome to apply.

You will be based in the St Elizabeth Hospice building in Ipswich. As well as being part of the multi-disciplinary hospice team, you will also be part of the Emotional Wellbeing and Spiritual Care Team and LivingGrief service across St Elizabeth Hospice. You will, therefore, have opportunities to develop working relationships and contribute to service development within a well-established, supportive and dynamic team of counsellors, social workers, spiritual care workers and family support workers.

In return we offer:

  • personal pension plan (NHS Pensions are transferrable)
  • excellent training opportunities
  • employee assistance programme
  • Medicash health plan
  • free parking
