St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people in east Suffolk living with a progressive or terminal illness. Our work is centred on an individual’s needs, which means specialist support, whenever and wherever it is needed, whether at home, in the community or at the hospice. Through medicine and therapy we ease pain; we give life purpose and make life liveable.  We are well respected and praised for our responsiveness and expertise by people we serve.

St Elizabeth Hospice received an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating 2017.

As a Community Healthcare Assistant at St Elizabeth Hospice you will provide end of life care for people in their own home. Most people do not choose hospital as the place to die, but sadly many people will die there. The hospice is working in partnership with the hospital, commissioners and other community teams in a new initiative to give patients more choices where they receive care at the end of life.

Providing care can mean a quicker discharge from hospital or prevent an inappropriate admission, therefore enabling a patient to remain at home with their loved ones.

As a member of the hospice team you will make a meaningful difference to patients and their loved ones.

It is a privilege to be part of a dedicated team that can provide excellent care and support to patients on their own home” Community Healthcare Assistant

We are looking for people who have experience of caring for patients at the end of life to join our growing team. You will need to have an NVQ2 or Care Certificate or be willing to work towards either of these.

We operate a rostered shift pattern between the hours of 8am -10pm, seven days a week including bank holidays. The length of the shift is usually 5 hours but flexibility is required with regard to start and finish times.

We offer a competitive salary, pay travel time, fuel costs, generous holiday allowance, pension (NHS pensions transferable) and other benefits.
