St Elizabeth Hospice continues to drive forward innovation and development of services, both in the Ipswich and East Suffolk locality and further up the coast to the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area.  In 2019 NHS Norfolk and Waveney CCG awarded the specialist palliative and end of life care contract to East Coast Community Healthcare.  The contract includes a specialist palliative care service which will be delivered in partnership with St Elizabeth Hospice.

This is an exciting time for St Elizabeth Hospice. It’s a time of expansion, development and investment in the Hospice Team.  We are offering an opportunity to be part of the Community Specialist Palliative Care Team and also work within our Community Care Unit influencing the holistic care of patients and carers with end of life and specialist palliative care needs.  This is a chance to make a real difference to people’s lives.

We are looking for enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants to join our Community Team to support our patients in our Community Care Unit locations.  You will work with our multi-disciplinary team under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide individualised care to patients and families.

In return we offer:

  • mirror Agenda for Change with regard to salary, enhancements, annual leave and occupational sick pay (however not reckonable service)
  • personal pension plan (NHS Pensions are transferrable)
  • excellent training opportunities
  • support with revalidation and ongoing CPD through both in-house and external education including an in house palliative care programme
  • experience in working in a Specialist Community Team
  • employee assistance programme
  • free parking

Our most recent Care Quality Commission report rated the hospice as “Outstanding”.
