Bank Physiotherapist

Status: Bank Hours – flexible

Salary: Band 6 – WTE: £33,706 to £40,588 depending on experience

Closing Date: 29/08/2022

Interview Date: 15/09/2022

St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people in east Suffolk living with a progressive or terminal illness. Our work is centred on an individual’s needs, which means specialist support, whenever and wherever it is needed, whether at home, in the community or at the hospice. Through medicine and therapy we ease pain; we give life purpose and make life liveable.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join our existing therapy team within our Ipswich based multidisciplinary team. This role is to provide Physiotherapy assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatments to patients with a palliative care diagnosis.  You must be a Registered Physiotherapist with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience. The post is for bank work so the hours are flexible and negotiable.

We are proud to have a strong palliative rehabilitation model that is led by our large Therapy Team. The team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists currently work across several service areas including the inpatient unit, community care unit, and in the community. We are looking for candidates with an interest in expanding their knowledge within palliative care and rehabilitation, who could support the team on an ad hoc basis to help cover planned and unplanned staff absences.

Our ideal candidate will have proven abilities to work with patients and families who have changing needs, both on an individual basis and in groups, as well as an understanding and ability to support individuals and families throughout their illness. This would suit a Physiotherapist looking to improve their knowledge and skills within palliative care, as well as therapists looking for a new direction who may be wondering if palliative care is for them.

Our most recent Care Quality Commission report rated the hospice as “Outstanding”
