INSET Training

Care of the dying and the bereaved often includes dealing with children and grandchildren following a loss. Over time St Elizabeth Hospice has built up a level of expertise in helping children and young people and has designed a course and resource pack to help schools guide pupils through this challenging period of their lives.

For literature on how to deal with children following a loss, pleasecontact Glenis Overett, family support team leader, on 01473 727776.

St Elizabeth Hospice INSET training for schools includes issues connected to bereavement and loss. During INSET training sessions we will explore our reactions to loss:

  • To discover how we deal with loss
  • To look at models of grief
  • To look at the behaviours bereaved young people present
  • To share ways of responding to these young people
  • To provide resources for teachers/staff

The School Support pack is included in the cost of the INSET training day.

"The course was delivered in a warm and open way. It was both interesting and stimulating broaching many questions relating to this difficult subject."
