- To enable patients wherever possible to be free of pain and other symptoms including emotional distress.
- To support patients, families and carers.

"The staff at the hospice were wonderful, the nurses, cleaners, kitchen staff, volunteers, gardeners and doctors; while my husband was there. The nurses were so kind to me; they would sit and talk to me when I was upset; it was much appreciated."
