Schools

We believe that anyone, at any age can help St Elizabeth Hospice make each day count for our patients and their families. That includes you and your school.

Primary School Fundraising

Perhaps your school could try some of these ideas:

Primary School Fundraising
  • Sponsored silence - Can you keep forms or year groups quiet for half an hour or maybe longer?
  • Disco - Why dont you have a roller disco or dance party? Everyone could pay a little to get in and could be good for the end of term!
  • Singing karaoke competition -Have a mini X factor competition. Could you have a potential Leona Lewis in your school?!
  • Goodies shop -The children could bring old toys and books or make bracelets and cakes to sell.
  • Non-uniform day/fancy dress day -Everyone could pay £1 to wear their favourite clothes or fancy dress for the day.
  • School pop music and TV quiz - Could play as teams and see who gets the most right.
  • Summer fete/Christmas fair -Organise stalls and even a grotto. Maybe even a stall to soak a teacher!

The Hospice helps each patient and their family make the most of each day by supporting their physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. As a school you could join us and help make a difference and at the same time have lots of fun!

Secondary School/Sixth Form Fundraising

Without support from people like you, we would simply not be able to provide the care and support we give to our patients and their families, friends and carers. So why not take action?
Fundraising can be really good fun How about having a go at some of these ideas:

Primary School Fundraising
  • Fashion show -Ask local shops to help with clothes or perhaps use some of the donated clothes from the Hospice shops.
  • Have a 70s or 80s party -You could have a best dressed and worst dressed competition.
  • Karaoke competition -Call it The X Factor and give a prize to the best singer in the school.
  • Battle of the bands -Have a mini Glastonbury at school! Charge people for tickets, vote for the best rock stars and dress for the occasion.
  • Non uniform day/fancy dress day/bad taste day -Pay £1 to not wear school uniform, wear fancy dress, wear jeans or bad taste clothes for a day.
  • School quiz -Set up a school quiz on music, TV or films and charge teams to enter.
  • Sponsored anything! Get sponsored for sports or something sillier, like eating twenty doughnuts or learning greetings in ten languages.

Other fundraising ideas

As well as these ideas, we also have care based fundraising tasks that a form or year group could get involved in. These tasks are created to tie in with the National Curriculum.

We are able to come along and talk to you and your students about the work of the Hospice either as individual groups or in assembly.

Which ever way you decide to support the Hospice, we can provide you with all the necessary fundraising materials you may need i.e. sponsorship forms, collection pots etc.
