St Elizabeth Hospice

Community services

  • Our art therapist runs an art therapy group at the Cancer Information Centre at Ipswich Hospital. This is run three to four times a year, in six week blocks and can cater for up to four people. The group is a chance for patients diagnosed with cancer to make art and share with one another.
  • A new innovative partnership between the Hospice and the East Suffolk Heart Failure service was launched at the end of 2005. This aims to extend the expertise and knowledge of the Hospice to heart failure patients with palliative and terminal care needs. There is also a group session, entitled Hearty Living, for patients to have access to family support, music and art therapy and offers a mix of specialist information and education about their illness with a range of therapies and support to promote well being, relaxation and control.
