St Elizabeth Hospice employs around 170 permanent staff.
Many are based at the Hospice site in Ipswich, in our retail outlets or based at satellite units while others work in the community but the variety of skills needed is wide-ranging. Our employment team is made up of expert managers, nurses, doctors, healthcare assistants, administrative staff, fundraisers, retail employees, support professionals and therapists as well as catering and maintenance workers.

To provide the levels of care needed, our staffing ratios are higher than some other units. We aim to maintain a higher proportion of qualified staff. This ensures that staff have more time to interact with patients, carers and their families, and are able to offer higher quality nursing care.
As a member of St Elizabeth Hospice staff, you have the option to join our Personal Pension plan, or if you have previously been a member of the NHS Pension Scheme then you will have the option to remain in this scheme and the Hospice will pay the employer's contributions. The St Elizabeth Hospice Personal Pension plan is a contributory scheme, with staff choosing a minimum personal contribution of 5%.
