St Elizabeth Hospice is enthusiastic about palliative care education and is committed to constantly improving services to patients and their relatives through a programme of staff education and training.

We aim to provide knowledgeable and informative speakers and facilitators in a welcoming, informal environment.

Our education strategy aims to:

• Enhance the skills and knowledge of other healthcare professionals and agencies providing palliative care within the surrounding community.
• Ensure that education and development needs are linked to the Hospice Business Plan taking into account relevant publication, documentation and legislative measures
• Provide all staff and volunteers with skills and knowledge essential for effective performance in their roles
• Support relevant career development plans for staff
• Encourage, support, and when necessary, facilitate education and training sessions within the community
